Relational Gestalt Psychotherapy with Suzie Wylie
Something in your life feels like it needs to change — but you feel stuck, conflicted, or held back by the same old patterns.
I offer a warm, relational space to gently explore what’s happening for you right now, so you can feel more present, connected, and free to respond differently.
Hi, I’m Suzie Wylie, a final-year trainee in relational gestalt psychotherapy. With nine years supporting people through emotional and relational challenges (including my background in nutritional therapy), I bring a grounded, embodied presence to the work. We move together at a pace that feels safe for your nervous system — never about fixing you, always about meeting you where you are. I am UKCP registered.
You might recognise yourself here:
You may be doing all the “right” things on the outside — showing up for others, holding things together — yet inside something still feels off.
You might:
-
Feel stuck or unfulfilled, even when life looks “fine” from the outside
-
Carry anxiety, overthinking, or a constant sense of pressure
-
Notice the same patterns repeating in your relationships (people-pleasing, difficulty with boundaries, feeling unseen)
-
Lose sight of your own needs while putting everyone else first
-
Sense there’s more for you, but feel blocked or held back by old beliefs or fears
This is a common place many people arrive. Relational gestalt psychotherapy can help you slow down, become more aware of these patterns in the present moment, and begin to choose new ways of being.
How I work – Relational Gestalt Psychotherapy
In our sessions we focus on what is actually happening for you right now — in your thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and especially in the relationship that unfolds between us.
Rather than just talking about the past or analysing symptoms, we bring gentle awareness to how old patterns still show up in the here-and-now. Together we explore:
-
Repeating relational patterns and how they feel in your body
-
The inner critic, shame, or parts of you that feel hidden or suppressed
-
Your needs, boundaries, and what it feels like to express them
-
New possibilities for responding instead of reacting automatically
This is collaborative, creative work. I won’t sit in silence or stay distant — I’ll meet you as a real human being, with warmth, curiosity, and clear boundaries. We build safety and trust first, always at your pace.
What you can expect
Therapy with me is not about quick fixes or surface-level tools. It’s a space where you can:
-
Speak openly without fear of judgement
-
Explore emotions or parts of yourself you usually push away
-
Make sense of strong reactions or internal conflicts
-
Experiment with new ways of relating — to yourself and to others
-
Gradually feel more grounded, self-trusting, and aligned with what matters to you
Over time, many people notice they feel steadier inside, less overwhelmed by old patterns, clearer in their choices, and more able to create the relationships and life they truly want.
My background and approach
My earlier work in nutritional therapy and supporting people with mental health issues, chronic illness, eating and body struggles has given me a deep appreciation for how emotional patterns live in the body and nervous system. In this psychotherapy space, however, the focus stays on you — your experience, your relational patterns, and your relationship with yourself and others. I bring a real, grounded, and relational presence rather than a detached “expert” stance.
As a trainee in my final year, I work with regular supervision and bring fresh energy and commitment to every session.
